A bike this time! A Norvin is a kind of strange creature, it’s a combination of a Norton frame (the famous “featherbed”) and a Vincent twin cylinder engine. The engine is a gorgeous collection of fins and tubes, but also very powerful for its age. These sorts of mongrel bikes were popular in the 1960s as a way of getting the best of both worlds, Norton’s excellent frame and a powerful engine from Triumph amongst others. Café Racers are bikes modified in a 1960s UK style made famous by the ton-up boys speeding between coffee shops. When I was growing up in London no-one said “Café”, they all said Caff, so this design is a Caff Racer.
